It is just about a week until we celebrate Christmas by drinking eggnog, having pets knock decorations off the tree or even topple it over. And then there are the gifts. The original Christmas gifts were the gold, frankincense and myrrh the Magi brought to the baby Jesus. And let’s not forget God’s gift of his Son to us.
In this spirit we will share gifts this morning with Interboro BUCS and bless some people with breakfast.
Let us pray.
Father in heaven, we thank you for the gift of your Son which we celebrate this month.
We thank you for this safe place to gather and share our lives and love with one another.
Please bless all of our classmates who were unable to be present and we ask for healing on those classmates who are ill.
Please comfort those who have lost family members and friends, as this holiday season is especially hard for them.
We ask you to bless the food you have provided for our nourishment and for your spiritual nourishment in our lives.
Also bless those who have prepared and are serving our food.
We ask all of this in the name of your Son, Jesus.
